Job

Looking for a new job

Many of you have contacted me over the last couple of years asking if I was considering other opportunities and I have always said no. Things have changed. I don't care for the direction my current employer is taking and although I'm sure I would be safe there for many months more I think it is wise to begin my search for the Next Big Thing in my life now.

I am looking for a long-term Director of IT/CTO/Information Architect type position although I am open minded and would consider something equally challenging. I might possibly consider a Senior Linux System Administrator position again but it would have to be something very special.

I am only interested in opportunities located in San Diego although travel anywhere (Spanish speaking countries preferred :) is no problem.

I have many years of experience invested in Linux/FOSS related technologies so they would have to be involved in any positions I would consider.

In recent years I have done much work with virtualization (Xen) and VOIP (SIP/Asterisk) as well as cluster/cloud computing and storage and have deployed them all in production.

I am not averse to risk and open to entrepreneurial activities however it would have to be something very special.

I am passionate about what I do and prefer to work with people who are equally passionate. No creativity stifling corporate 9 to 5 clock punching environments please.

I have a moral obligation to see my current employer through our current project. Then I am going to Vietnam to get married from July 30th to August 18th. I will be available to start my first day of work at my new job on August 25th.

Some of you may know my current employer. I would appreciate it if you would be discrete.

RECRUITERS: Please read the above. Seriously. I'm willing to talk to you but please make sure the opportunity matches with the above.

The most current version of my resume can always be found at:
